Brahms’s two masterpieces for cello and piano are heard in new recordings by Emanuel Gruber and Arnon Erez. The Jerusalem Post wrote that Emanuel Gruber is “one of our great artists” citing “his extraordinary capacity for projecting the deepest meaning of the music”. Awarded the Pablo Casals prize by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, he also won the Concert Artists’ Guild Auditions early in his career. Arnon Erez has performed in major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Beethoven Halle in Bonn, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Musikverein in Vienna, Wigmore Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

The Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano in A minor, D. 821, was written by Franz Schubert in Vienna in November 1824. The sonata is the only substantial composition extant today for the arpeggione (which was essentially a bowed guitar). The sonata was composed in November 1824, about a month after Schubert had returned to Vienna from his second stay in Zseliz. It has been adapted to other string instruments, especially the cello.

Tristan und Isolde (Tristan and Isolde), WWV 90, is a music drama in three acts by Richard Wagner set to a German libretto by the composer, loosely based on the medieval 12th-century romance Tristan and Iseult by Gottfried von Strassburg. First conceived in 1854, the music was composed between 1857 and 1859 and premiered at the Königliches Hoftheater und Nationaltheater in Munich on 10 June 1865 with Hans von Bülow conducting. While performed by opera companies, Wagner preferred the term Handlung (German for “plot” or “action”) for Tristan to distinguish its structure of continuous narrative flow (“endless melody”) as distinct from that of conventional opera at the time which was constructed of mundane recitatives punctuated by showpiece arias, which Wagner had come to regard with great disdain.

Albin Fries, who is also a passionate natural scientist, presents highlights of his Lied oeuvre on this CD with soprano Margarita Gritskova, who has been a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble since 2012. These include songs that refer to nature, such as the “Seasons” cycle, which includes a setting of Uhland’s famous poem “Fruhlingsglaube”, as well as music on poems by Hermann Hesse, Stefan Zweig and Heinrich Seidel, songs dedicated to love, such as the cycle “Lieder nach Gedichten von Friedrich Ruckert op. 52” and settings of other poems by Adelbert von Chamisso and Clemens Brentano. The “Five Last Songs op. 53” based on poems by Theodor Storm and Edith Haider, which are dedicated to Margarita Gritskova, were composed under the impression of the composer’s determination to cease composing, which had become impossible for him due to his advanced hearing loss.

Swiss composer and saxophonist Sarah Chaksad has earned international acclaim for her innovative large ensembles and emotionally rich compositions. The logical continuation of the series “Organ Works of the North German Baroque,” recorded by Friedhelm Flamme, is the works of Dietrich Buxtehude, the most important master of North German organ music. In order to underscore the features of his personal style of interpretation, which is the result of decades of study of virtually the entire repertoire of North German music, the incredible and mostly intact original Treutmann organ in the Grauhof monastery near Goslar was selected. This organ can produce Buxtehude’s innovative, visionary sound artistry in a very different way than the well-known Schnitger organs in northern Germany.

Michel Charles Sardou (French pronunciation born 26 January 1947) is a French singer and occasional actor.
He is known not only for his love songs (“La maladie d’amour”, “Je vais t’aimer”), but also for songs dealing with various social and political issues, such as the rights of women in Islamic countries (“Musulmanes”), clerical celibacy (“Le curé”), colonialism (“Le temps des colonies”, “Ils ont le pétrole mais c’est tout”) or the death penalty (“Je suis pour”). Another sometimes controversial theme found in some of his songs (“Les Ricains” and “Monsieur le Président de France” for example) is his respect and support for the culture and foreign policies of the United States of America. He has been accused of being a racist due to his 1976 song “Le temps des colonies”, in which a former colonial soldier proudly tells his memories of colonialism, but Sardou has always claimed the song was sarcastic.[1] His 1981 single “Les lacs du Connemara” was an international hit (especially in the Netherlands). A number of his hit songs were written in collaboration with Jacques Revaux and Pierre Delanoë, a few others (most notably “En chantant”) with Italian singer Toto Cutugno.

Richard Danielpour has collaborated frequently with soprano Hila Plitmann, and this album features three recent works, two of which were written specifically for her. The song cycles heard here are sung in three languages central to the composer’s life. Songs of Love and Loss is in Farsi and sets the poetry of Rumi; Canti della natura, in Italian, takes sonnets attributed to Vivaldi in The Four Seasons; while Songs of My Father is set to the English poems of Danielpour’s father. Each cycle features differing instrumentation and reflects Danielpour’s long-admired compositional subtlety and refinement.Richard Danielpour and Hila Plitmann have collaborated on no fewer than five different Naxos albums prior this one: Ancestral Voices on 857831112, Darkness in the Ancient Valley on 8559707, The Passion of Yeshua on 855988586, Toward a Season of Peace on 8559772 and String Quartet no.7 on 8559845.

Plitmann has sung many prestigious premiere performances under leading conductors. In February 2009, Plitmann was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Performance for her 2009 performance of Corigliano’s Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan.

Reggae is a contemporary music movement that emerged in Jamaica in the late 1960s and became widespread in the early 1970s.

Reggae can be both dance, relaxation and protest music, which follows from the traditions of African culture in which rhythm, dance and music coexist with other phenomena and events. The composition used is electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, electric organ, and sometimes a group of wind instruments. The main feature of reggae is the leading role of rhythmic elements, mainly the bass guitar, the pattern of which forms the basis of the composition both rhythmically and melodically (the parts of other instruments are built around the bass part). Also in reggae is noted: moderate tempo, size – 4/4, accents in the accompaniment on the 2nd and 4th lobes, breaks on treble tones or timbales. The recognised king of reggae is singer and songwriter Bob Marley. Reggae songs based on Rastafarian ideology and saturated with the symbolism of this religious and philosophical movement have become very popular, but songs about love, everyday problems, political and protest songs are no less popular among the performers of the style.

Gianni Coraini was born in 1954 in Italy, originally from Mantova. Even since he was a little boy, Ken had a special talent for music. He also learned to play the flute and graduated from the academy of music. When Ken was fifteen, he began his training as a musician by singing and playing in discos and clubs. Laszlo had his first big success in 1984. His songs “Hey, Hey Guy”, “Tonight”, “Don’t Cry”, etc. were not only the biggest hits in Europe but also in Asia and in Venezuela. Laszlo sold more than 1,000,000 copies of his records.

Gianmario Liuni began studying piano pianoforte At a young age he had dedicated himself to the study of guitar, music theory and harmony, with M Mario.

He attended for several years, the courses of M Arr Arrigo Cappelletti at the CDM in Milan. He takes part in the summer seminars of SienaazzAzz, following the classes of piano (M Franco Franco D’Andrea), ensemble music (M° Stefano Battaglia) and harmony. He perfects his piano technique and classical repertoire with pianist Barbara Tripodi. He studied at the CPM in Milan with the M Franco Franco D’Andrea where he obtained with full marks, in 1998, the internal diploma of the “Professional specialization course in piano pianoforte He studied harmony, arrangement and composition with M Umb For some years until 2010 he expanded the classical repertoire and deepened the compositional techniques with M Marco Marco Iannelli (pianist, musicologist and conductor).

She studied jazz piano and singing at the prestigious Royal Conservatory of The Hague, graduating cum laude and with a special mention from the committee and later on she earned her master’s degree from Codarts Conservatory and University of Arts in Rotterdam.In just a few short years, she has earned international acclaim as a world-class pianist and vocalist. She has performed with some of the finest international jazz musicians, to name a few: Scott Hamilton, Philip Harper, Owen Hart jr., Joe Cohn, Anthony Pinciotti, Jason Brown, Daryll Hall, Lee Pearson, Darius Brubeck, Dave Blankhorn, Florin Nicolescu, Marjorie Barnes, Sergey Manukyan and many more.
She got invited by Micheal League to join the “Snarky Puppy” during their concert at Umbria Jazz 2023.
She has toured and performed at some of the most noteworthy theatres, jazz festivals, and clubs around the word like “North Sea Jazz festival”, “Umbria Jazz”, “Cork Jazz”, “Bosendorfer piano gala” “Breda jazz” “Amsterdam Arena Stadium” and many others is USA, Japan, India, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, Israel and literally everywhere in Europe.
